Life change happens one day at a time!
// June 6th, 2011 // Journal
Today is the first official day for my diet change. In my typical diet, I’ll be targeting 1200-1400 calories and I usually try to stay very balanced between veggies, fruit and protein. I think today will be pretty difficult, as I haven’t gone through my normal prep of 1 week of strictly liquids, then 1 week of just fruits and vegetables. If the week doesn’t start well, I might choose to use that. It’s a great way for me to shrink my appetite and start to rid my system of sugars.
I imagine I will have to hydrate well today in order to prevent headaches from sugar withdrawal
We are working on lining up a gym soon, which helps my motivation tremendously. I’ve even contemplated speaking with some of our favorite restaurants about creating a nice, healthy meal just for me. Ya gotta go for it, right?
I appreciate prayer for my walk with change. I don’t believe this much of a change is really possible without God, but I know that with Him anything is possible!

Congrats Don on jumping back into the challenge of shedding “half the size!” Let me know in what ways I can motivate you. Something I’ve learned lately is that PROTEIN is your best friend. It has helped me in my fitness regimen in preparation for the USAF. You are very true about staying hydrated. Here’s a trick, any time you want a snack, reach for water instead, it works! Keep in mind that you didn’t gain the weight over night and you’re not going to lose the weight over night! Take life ONE DAY AT A TIME!
Thanks Bre! I’m counting on friends to hold me accountable! Keep asking
