Rough last few days

Wow, amazing how easy it is to slide. I haven’t gone crazy, haven’t started eating Ice Cream Sundaes, but I feel a little out of control the last few days. Like I said, I might only be 20-30% over calorie budget, but to be honest I just haven’t been paying a lot of attention the last few day and that can be dangerous. Of course, I haven’t actually been weighing in yet, so there’s no real way to tell. (more…)

First week down, livin’ for the weekend!

Well, today was a good day. I am thankful that God must be stepping in this week. I’ve had a great week for the diet, I’ve not been really very hungry and the food I allotted myself has been enough. I still need to find an XL scale so I can start tracking progress. I think we are about ready to approach the gym, I just needed to make sure I was committed again. I know it’s pretty much fantasy, but it seems like I am getting around better already. My knees are not hurting as much as they have recently. It could also be that I am drinking some more water. Eating out doesn’t have to be bad

Another good day of choices. This morning we had a Referral Group meeting at 7am. It is our tradition to go on to Waffle House to grab breakfast before I go to work. It’s not always smart choices, because they have some great breakfast foods, but I decided I need to be able to eat in restaurants, so I chose a healthier breakfast today. Here is a picture of it. I never would have guessed that it has been a week since I blogged. Vickie said something yesterday about it and I started thinking today that I need to get back in the groove of sharing my thoughts and how I feel.

Saturday, I woke up and somehow injured my back. This isn’t uncommon for large people but usually I can figure out where I hurt myself. No such luck this time. However, it wasn’t the worst I have experienced and with a lot of prayer and a few naproxin I am feeling much better already. (more…)

Eating out at Long John Silvers

We were out and about this afternoon in the Milford area. We were hungry and looking for a healthy lunch. So we naturally thought of Long Johns, right? Right! I was thinking Long Johns had some kind of baked fish, but I guess that must have been a while ago. But I did find a great surprise in their Freshside Grille menu items. They have 3 different meals that are under 350 calories and under $5. (more…)
