Midweek of week 2

// June 15th, 2011 // Comments Off // Journal

Wow, I didn’t realize how busy I’ve been since the weekend. I’m still doing well as far as the food goes. I’m trying to find a scale somewhere nearby that I can weigh myself on. It’s tough when you’re this big. This morning I had another Fiesta Omelet at Waffle House. I love that omelet, only I take out the ham and put in mushrooms. I slathered it a bit with salsa and it was so good. I will try to keep up with the blogging this week. I’ve been busy at work and for some reason have just not been at the computer a lot at night. At least not in the mood to blog.

I thank my Lord for the encouraging spirit He is giving me during this period. I don’t feel deprived, nor am I hungry when I go to bed. I think I might not even be averaging 1200 calories, so I need to become more purposeful as far as the times I eat and how much.

A New Year, a New Me!

Well, I haven’t written for a while because I was taking the Holidays off as it were. I was trying to be good, but not really being stringent. I guess it was a halfway effort at best. I found myself falling back into some bad habits, which may sound bad, but for me it’s encouraging. It’s encouraging because it makes me realize I must always be vigilant in order to overcome this food addiction of mine.

I’ve been working on how to present my food diary here on the site as well as a weekly weigh in and measurements page, so that I can be as accountable as possible. So far I still haven’t seen a plugin or other program to allow me to do it effectively, but I am still looking. (more…)

Holiday parties are dangerous but survivable

// December 15th, 2009 // Comments Off // Journal

Hello again! I just got back from my company party and I feel terrible. Terribly full. Very uncomfortable. I want to remember this feeling, because I don’t like it. Now, don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious, but I am so uncomfortable. I tried to limit my calories during the day and drink some extra water, but I still over indulged. I even made a point to eat salad tonight, but I did indulge in some wonderful pasta as well. (more…)

Thanksgiving Day 2009!

I am so thankful this year! We have a great apartment, right on the river. We have a growing business, in which we are getting really involved in the Loveland community. I have an awesome wife who supports me when I need it. I have a glorious God who cares enough about me to carry me when I don’t care enough. This year, I also am thankful that I have started down the road to better health. (more…)

Fearful weigh-in, I don’t think so

// November 3rd, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Journal

Well, it has been quite a while since I made a weigh in. I think 10 days or so. I wrote earlier about my food balance being off this week and the stress I was putting on myself. I know I’ve had several days where my carb intake was way too high and days where milk/cheese was out of whack. The great news is I did not go backward. I held the same weight as I had 10 days ago. (more…)

Back to the trenches

// November 2nd, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Healthy Food Choices, Journal

I never would have guessed that it has been a week since I blogged. Vickie said something yesterday about it and I started thinking today that I need to get back in the groove of sharing my thoughts and how I feel.

Saturday, I woke up and somehow injured my back. This isn’t uncommon for large people but usually I can figure out where I hurt myself. No such luck this time. However, it wasn’t the worst I have experienced and with a lot of prayer and a few naproxin I am feeling much better already. (more…)
